Miss Copy Cat

One Sunday picture I did not share was of this one where Chris caught Hannah copying me. It is so funny because that is what she does all the time. I remember people telling me that you have to be careful.. they want to do everything you do. I completely believed these people but now I really really understand it!!

By The Way, MOM, no I do not know why I have a hair band thing on my wrist when I can not put my hair up anymore. It is such a habit I have caught myself doing that every once in a while!

AND, everyone, please notice the beautiful bow my mom made in Hannah's hair. Remember to head on over to www.SparkleFactorDesigns.com, if you need any bows!!!

Psalm 18:1-3

(New International Version)

I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

Our Saturday

My wonderful friends Lori and Julie gave me tickets to go shop at a consignment sale early (when the consignors shop). They told me things that really made me scared. They said to bring a basket, go thru the size clothes you want and gab all that look interesting and throw them in the basket. They told me if someone got in my way to push them. They told me to find a corner, guard my things and sort! They told me to listen for a check out number and when they call for it go get it right then or I will be there for hours. They told me that there will be lots of people there and it will be very serious.

I was very scared so I took my friend Sara Jo with me. She loves consignment sales and she has never been to one "early" either so we could be new at it together. (We did however, after talking about what Julie and Lori said, decide that they were probably exaggerating a little..)

We got there about 5 minutes early ... that is good right? NO, the line to get in was down the sidewalk and out the parking lot and about to go down a row of cars. I saw people not just bring baskets but also bring wagons, clean trashcans (the big kind you put out for the trash men), laundry baskets, a rolling hanging rack, and some even went to the Big Lots next door and got one of their shopping carts to use. By the time they let us in the line was almost completely down one parking lot row. Oh My Goodness, I was SCARED. This is really not my thing.

Let me tell you, when we got into that HUGE place with the HUGE sale, I heard something I don't think I ever imagined I would hear in my lifetime. 300 + women in a big room, COMPLETELY silent! It was ALL business. Luckily, we took my friend's advise and quickly realized that they were not exaggerating (although, I did not have to push anyone!) and were very successful shoppers. It was lots of fun.

Chris and I have accepted lots of hand-me-downs and gifts for Hannah's clothing in the 20 months that she has been alive and have really not bought her very much. Well, that all changed Saturday... Check out my $90 worth of lute!!

5 Summer School Outfits.

3 VBS/Wednesday Night Worship Outfits.

8 (how may Sundays are in the summer?) Dresses

And 1 big ticket item. A Strasburg Dress! Beautiful!!

After all that drama I come home to wait for this......
he he he! JK! We were so excited Aunt Wendy and Mollie were able to come and visit us. Hannah loved it! Hannah calls them "de de" and "modeee". It was lots of fun AND they babysat while Chris and I went on a date. Yipppeeee!

What an adventurous Saturday!

Our Couch

Our Couch makes Hannah's hair full of static.
It is really hilarious.
Sometimes the static makes her hair go straight out.
Sometimes the static makes her hair stick to her head.
BTW, she was too busy wallowing to pose!

Happy Valentine's Day

We were all very sick on Valentine's Day so Hannah just got to wear her Valentine's Day outfit last night to worship and today to school. I was so excited we were finally getting to celebrate Valentine's Day that I took a picture of her in the outfit from every angle. :-)

Great Puzzles

Does anyone else have any Melissa And Doug puzzles?
They are absolutely great.
I love them. Chris loves them. Hannah loves them.
I learned after looking at their website that they have lots of other things besides puzzles.

I highly recommend them if anyone is looking for great puzzles, especially first puzzles!

Our Sunday Pictures

We ran a little late today so I didn't get ANY of her looking at me.

Also, I asked Hannah to go sit on the steps so I could take a picture. She decided to go sit on the landing right beside a bunch of junk that needs to go upstairs! Ignore the Junk! Look at the Girl!

SO, Here is what we got...

The Flu!

I have been inspired by my dear friend Elizabeth, who found a few positive things in a horrible situation involving some hard wood flooring....

Here are the things I have learned from having the flu in my home and effect everyone who lives in it!
  • I may actually like being at home sick rather than at work well. ( I am not sure I have always felt this way.)
  • The people who have developed a routine with my daughter and take care of her every day - they are saints!
  • Seriously, my bed is really really comfortable.
  • Lysol, despite the smell and unfortunate taste in the air, really makes you feel that your house can be and eventually will be flu-bug-free one day.
  • Good thing to know in life - if you use Hand Sanitizer too much, you will start to taste it!
  • When a 19 month old throws up on things (many things), the laundry seems to get done rather quickly!!
  • 99.4 may not really be a fever.
  • Pedialite Popsicles are a lifesaver.
  • I really miss blogging. It has come to be something that I really love to do. When I am too sick to do it, I miss it. (But because my bed is so comfy, I don't loose any sleep over it!)
  • I really think that grape juice tastes great. Especially with a lot of crushed ice in it!
  • And, finally, my family here (where my home is) is wonderful, even if they aren't related by blood.

The Play Room

Yippeeee!! Yippeeee!! Yippeeee!! We are getting a play room. Chris keeps asking me when I am going to blog about it.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago we hired a contractor and he got started on finishing out a 230 square foot room in our house that will be a play room. It will be where ALL of the toys in our home belong! I am so excited. I think that this is really going to be the beginning of an organized home for us. STOP LAUGHING! I really think this little room could be the ticket! Please pray, for my sanity, that this is the ticket for a better kept and organized home!

ANYWAY, here are some of the before pictures. After the electrician inspector comes tomorrow I will try to get updated pictures on how the room looks now. You may be wondering from these pictures how big the room really is. It may be that you feel you can't get a real sense of the room since you never, not once, see the floor of the room. Well, Chris was trying to take the pictures in such a way that you wouldn't notice we had not gotten everything out of there yet!!

With that in mind, I think you can get the feel of it!!

Sunday Pictures

This Sunday was a little different since Chris and I both had the flu. Someone came and picked her up for church so that we would could have a little rest time. SO, she actually took her bath Sunday morning which is unusual. I think it was a very weird day for her.

Hannah is kinda like me. When she gets out of the bath her skin is kinda blotchy red. I don't know why but my skin does that too.

Growing Up

I can not believe how big she is getting..
  • Hannah now actually says "milk" with the m sound and everything as opposed the "nook" we grew to really love.
  • Hannah use to have a very distinctive grunt/moan that sounded the exact same every time we asked her to say please. She now says please very well.
  • Hannah can tell you the name of every person in her class at school and at church. Her teachers say that she gets very worried about someone if they are not there, constantly asking about them.
  • Hannah use to think that any book you gave her was "Bible" and now she will ask "Bible?" and if I say no then she knows it is just a "Book." She tries very hard to be sure that she says that K sound. It is funny.
  • Last weekend, Hannah sat in a booster seat in a booth at a restaurant and she was just fine. I had no idea we were ready for a booster seat!!
  • Hannah will call your name, you will look at her, and she will babble on and on telling you about something very important. It probably won't be long until we can understand what she is saying.
  • Hannah now says some version of "I Love You" when we ask her too. It is amazing to hear.
  • At the supper table, Hannah will point to all of our plates and cups and announce who's they are. For cups it is "Mommy's Milk" (no matter what is in my cup), "Daddy's Milk" (same), and "Hannah's Milk." She seems the most proud of Hannah's!
  • A small part of me doesn't want Hannah to stop calling her kitchen "chitchen." When we go upstairs to play she will look back and say "bye bye chitchen!"
  • Hannah is actually taking naps and going Night Night without her paci and without a whole lot of fuss about it. I just can't believe that she can take it or leave it sometimes. I thought it would be SO difficult.
  • Hannah is very proud to say that she is a "big girl," especially when we talk about it when she does not use her paci.
  • AND, Hannah has decided it is really cool that she has pockets in her pants. It is so cute seeing her walk around with her hands in her pockets.

New Book

It is amazing the kind of dent you can put into your 320 page book when you are at home, in bed, with the flu for 2 days. I really am, actually, a slow reader!

Something Borrowed was definitely interesting and an easy read. It keeps you wanting more. This book is sprinkled with some foul language and, as a question from the Readers Group Guide at the end says, disloyalty is a major theme in this novel. Be prepared for that if you are going to try this one out. However, within all this there is a very sweet love story and a wonderful journey of a girl finding out who she really is, apart from any of her friends! It is interesting.

I have decided I do want to see what happens next so I am going to read the sequel. ( However, I am a little disappointed that the sequel is from the eyes of a different character. ) We will see how it goes. Something Blue is my next read!
