Yes, it has now been over a week and
No, I have not yet put up pictures of Hannah's Party.
Honestly. I am over- whelmed and I don't know who to choose pictures. Literally, between my family and a great friend who came with his wonderful camera ready to help out I have over 1000 pictures of the day. LIT- ER- ALLY!
The day was great. It went well and I think Hannah had LOTS of fun. SO, I am just going to tell you all about it and try to get a few pictures for you. Then, maybe later, I might have another post or two of pictures.
Let's start with a couple of stories....
I asked Hannah what she wanted on her birthday cake. She said she wants a blue "coca" dot birthday cake. SO, I went onto paint and made 3 pictures. One blue back- ground with white polka dots, one white back- ground with blue polka dots, and one dark blue back- ground with light blue polka dots. She chose blue back- ground with white polka dots. Well, we RAN with that. She had a Blue With White Polka Dotted Birthday.
Chris and I were trying to decide who we were going to invite and what we were going to do. We thought we would just do something to let the kids play outside but it is so hot. That is when we decided to do water. Water fun outside. Because of that we decided to invite just girls this year (unless there was a sibling of course). Chris and I were trying to get a small list together and Chris decides we are going to ask Hannah what girls she wants to invite. I think she really loved that. She did a great job of trying to include EVERYONE! It was wonderful.
However, because of how many she came up with we decided to give family an option of being here during that or not......
First, we had a lunch celebrating Hannah's birthday with family. It was lots of fun. My parents, my grandparents, and my aunt, uncle, and cousin were able to come. We had some cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to Hannah, which really embarrassed her more than I thought it would and talked and played and had fun.
The present of the hour was Blue Boy. Grandpop got Hannah a fish and they named him Blue Boy. She LOVES him very much. She says goodnight to him and blows him kisses every night. AND, he was the perfect gift since he is blue with while polka dots. It was great.
My parents were the only ones who decided to stay for the girl chaos (and they were staying here with us so they had no choice).
We got a small nap out of both Hannah and Justus. They were already worn out.
Second, we had 6 of Hannah's friends come over. We did presents then cake and icecream (Hannah didn't like us all singing at her again) and then we let them go in the backyard. Hannah's Maw Maw and Poppa Bob gave her a great picnic table which worked out well for the kids to eat outside. We had, at least, 10 balls (thanks Nannah and Papa Joe), a sprinkler ball, a little pool, the sandbox, a slide (thanks Willa and Ellie), a tunnel (thanks Carissa) and a water table for them to play with and I think they all had a wonderful time.
We hosed them all down and sent them on their way home - - Tired and Hungry!
It was really a wonderful, fun day!!
Now, for the Big Thank Yous who made this day possible.
#1 Papa Joe! Thank You for putting all kinds of things together late Friday night. Thank You for making all the last minute runs on Saturday morning! We could not have done this without you!
#2
Nannah! Thank You for helping me set up for everything. Thank You for all the food you prepared late Friday night. Thank You for taking care of Justus during the play time so that I could gab! We could not have done this without you!
#3
Mrs Elizabeth! Thank You for taking so much of your time and effort to make the cake that Hannah requested! You brought her dream into reality, quite literally, and then some so that it was so so beautiful! We could not have done this with without you!
#4 UPS! Thank You UPS for getting Maw Maw and Poppa Bob's gift of a picnic table here in time for us to have 8 children eat cake and icecream outside instead of inside our home! We could not have had such a clean floor afterwards without you!
#5 Chris! The Most Important! Thank You for blowing up all the "stuff" for the kids to have a good time with. Thank You for helping me keep everyone together during the party. Thank You for being the awesome dad who entertained 7 giggling little girls with your Hula-Hoop skills. Thank You for being the most wonderful daddy to our little 3 (YES, Three!) year old! Since, obviously, the child's existance could not have happened without you - we, very obviously, could not have done this without you!
It was a fun fun day!
