Thanksgiving was at our house this year. As we requested. No one needs to panic - I did not do all the cooking. (Something to be thankful for.) Aunt Wendy and I got a handful of pictures before everyone got there and then there were not very many taken after that. I was too worried about where all the food was going to be put in my small kitchen. Don't worry, it worked out. (Something to be thankful for.)
Before everyone got here, Chris and Hannah went out and blowed the leaves off the sidewalk. Hannah loved having a project with her Daddy. She is still in her pjs but when you have a big pink coat and cool black boots - no need to get dressed before going to blow the leaves away! Aunt Wendy was sweet enough to take a picture of me and Chris together. I am trying to remember to do that more instead of only having pictures of the children. I want our children to always find pictures of us, throughout our lives, that show them how happy we are with each other and with them.
Of course, the photographer and her sweet sidekick needed to get a pictures too!
As things got to bustling - more people, more food, more noise, more confusion, more questions, ... more everything - Hannah got a little clingy and so Mommy and Hannah got a little bit of special cuddle time in the kitchen. Sometimes you just need that.
My beautiful hodge podge table thanks to the Blessing Mix at each place and turkeys to gobble in the middle.
Our own personal professional turkey carver. Chris stood and watched and is hoping to be able to carve a turkey correctly one day. He has a great teacher (not only in Grandpop but also in his Dad/Poppa Bob)!! Chris is bound to be a professional in his future! :-)
And finally, a beautiful girl showing such a sweet boy how thankful she is for him!

This was Saturday the 21st at about 2pm!We were going to a wedding that night. A wedding of an old friend of Chris' from college. Chris realized that he was going to see a lot of old friends that had not seen him in a while. He also knew that, even though they all use to celebrate November Beard Month together that if they were in a wedding - they would probably not have their beard.
SO, here are the pictures after 4pm Saturday the 21st.Who knows, he may have shaved for Grandmom too? :-)
Have you checked out our other blog? You should. There are lots of great gifts available and I know you are thinking about Christmas!
Also, if you want to make any event, day, holiday, or memory sparkle a bit - you should definitely check it out! I bet you will find that special something you were looking for.
Justus was "sick" today. He had a fever, runny nose, and a small tight cough. I put sick in "" because he played and laughed and ate and slept and had a great day, just fine! I think he might be faking! he he! Just Kidding, grandparents out there, don't worry, we have a doc appt tomorrow morning at 8am!
How long since you have heard our Sweet Boy giggle? Too Long? Well, check this out.
Sorry it is so dark we were sneaking up on them to get it on video. Reese is the other little girl there at the end trying to get Justus to laugh just a little more.... They are so funny!
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks was great. I agree with my mom that I was a little nervous about him writing about a teenager but it was GREAT! I loved it. Definitely another wonderful one for Nicholas Sparks. I am excited about seeing the movie soon!
I am now reading Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. I have read Confessions of a Shopaholic and Undomestic Goddess by her. They are all interesting and all set in the London area. SO, it always take me a minute to get use to the language.
It had been a long time since I listened to my Mark Shultz CD but I am so glad I listened to it the other day. I love that CD. It is great.
One of my favorite songs is this one:
When you Come Home Sung by Mark Shultz
My first day of recess They all laughed at me When I fell off the swing set And scraped up my knee
The nurse called my Momma To say I'd be late, And when she gave me the phone I could hear Momma say "I'm so sorry, son. Oh I think you're so brave"
And she was smilin when she said:
When you come home, No matter how far, Run through the door And into my arms It's where you are loved, It's where you belong And I will be here When you come home
I waved good-bye through the window As I boarded the plane, My first job in Houston Was waiting for me
I found a letter from Momma Tucked in my coat And as I flew down the runway I smiled when she wrote: I'll miss you, son, You'll be so far away
But I'll be waiting for the day
When you come home No matter how far, Run through the door And into my arms It's where you are loved, It's where you belong, And I will be here When you come home
Well, I don't think She can hear you now, The doctor told me Your mother is fading, It's best that you leave
So I whispered, I love you And then turned away. But I stopped at the door When I heard Momma say, I love you, son, But they're callin me away
Promise me before I go
When you come home, No matter how far, Run through the door And into my arms; It's where you are loved, It's where you belong, And I will be here When you come home, When you come home.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us........
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.......
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us......
And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God MUST love his brother also.
The other night, Hannah prayed to God that she would get to go to Disney World soon. By the way, this thought is totally from outside our home (thank you Elizabeth, Lori, Shana, Preston, ..... and so on). We don't talk about that around here. Actually Chris has never been and I almost want to be sure Chris and I go alone before we ever take the kids so he can REALLY enjoy it!
Anyway, Chris asked her what Disney World was. We know she has no clue! But she said it was where she could go see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Chris told her to keep on praying about it.
I told her that we would all talk about it when Justus was potty trained.
Did you know that there is a National Beard Club? And did you know that November is Inter- national Beard Month? I have known about this since I was in college.
This is the Beard Club belief….
The November Beard Club is a group of men who firmly believe that because men have the natural ability to grow beards, they should. At least for a month. And the chosen month is November, due to it's chilly climate and the fact men seem to have a natural inclination to grow facial hair around this time every year.
Do any of you know my husband?
Do any of you know he completes me?For Real – not just movie-quote pretend.
Do any of you know he can make people laugh?
Do any of you know that he is up for just about any challenge?
Do any of you know that he has celebrated, with lots of men, November Beard Month for at least 7 years?
Well, now you do.That’s right, for the month of November, Chris does not shave. It is funny for some reason. It just makes me laugh. He is SO cute.
I am a Christian woman with the most wonderful husband. He is the absolute perfect man for me. I also have a beautiful daughter and a handsome son. We are blessed! Our family, daily, tries to do God's will and live as He would want, following the example of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Psalm 9:10
"And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You."
