Our Sunday Pictures

I am not even going put comments under this series of pictures. How about you make them up as you look at them? I bet they would be pretty close to exactly how our morning went.

I do think that Hannah's little dress is cute but the pictures didn't capture it (and there was no time this morning to keep trying). We probably should have gone outside. It is a soft navy corduroy and was so adorable. It was one of those wonderful Hand -Me -Downs that I love so much.

Did you see my little man in a polo style shirt? Isn't he cute? I think he may get his 6 week pictures done in this outfit. It is so so ........ Handsome! (not cute or sweet or pretty - right?)

New Book

I know, I know. I just had a new book less than a week ago and I am NOT a fast reader so how can it possibly be that I am already on to another New Book? A few things can explain this....

#1
It was a Nicholas Sparks book I was reading.

#2
I have had a couple of weeks with parents here at my house telling me to go take a nap and so for the first part of that time, I would read.

#3
I have a wonderful husband that always does the last feeding of the night with Justus which means I can crawl in bed, cuddle up, and read some before closing my eyes for a few hours of sleep until Justus wakes up.

#4
It was a Nicholas Sparks book, you know?

Anyway, as usual, The Lucky One was a great book. Couldn't put it down and if you like love stories or if you like Nicholas Sparks, I would definitely recommend you reading it.

One thing I like about his books is that they are always clean, however, they do not always have characters in them that have Christian values. Nicholas Sparks never claims to be a Christian author but I always like to tell you all if you are going to find Christian principles or not in the books I read just so, if you do decide to read them yourselves, you are not taken by surprise.

Of my pile of books that I have by my bed waiting to be read, this time it was pretty easy for me to choose my next book to read. Why? Because I borrowed it from someone and I am pretty sure I probably should have been courteous and read it before The Lucky One but I just couldn't wait to read it SO, I need to read Where the River Ends by Charles Martin next so that I can give it back to my friend as soon as possible.

I have never read Charles Martin before and I have honestly not looked him up to see what else he has out there. The funny thing is that my friend picked up this book thinking it was a Nicholas Sparks book. The outside of the book looks just like a Nicholas Sparks book and at a glance could have been easily mistaken for one. When she read it, she liked it and brought it to worship one Sunday to let someone else borrow it. When I saw it, I said that I wanted it next. And SO, now I have it and it is my turn to read it.

There is a "disclaimer" on the front that says "Warning: This book could break your heart."

As always, I will let you know.

Forgive Me

With all the chaos in my home in the past couple of weeks please forgive me for .....

#1
... not apologizing for plastering my blog with TONS of pictures of my children and our exciting new addition to the family.

#2
... playing catch up on my blog even if it means that I have to go back in time some...

For Example:

I have been meaning to show you all these latest pictures of Hannah in the tub. Her hair is getting so long (time for a LITTLE trim actually) and she has discovered the joy of a bubble bath!

And can you believe my little baby girl is riding a bike? With a cute little pink helmet and everything?

Our Sunday Pictures

Mr. Justus' first Sunday pictures before going to worship.
I think Justus may have gotten the raw end of the deal on these pictures but we had lots of fun taking them!! Justus did wonderful in worship and everyone just ewwwwed and awwwwwed over him all morning. It was a wonderful day of Worship with our entire family of 4.

Our Sunday Pictures (Last Week)

You didn't think I was forgetting about Sunday pictures did you?

I left specific instructions to be sure that my parents got Sunday pictures of Hannah before they left for worship. I even told my mom to be sure they got up in time for them. :-)

Sunday was the day we got to come home from the hospital so Justus' Sunday pictures are a little "different" this week.

New Book

I have finished Hey Good Looking by Fern Michaels. I really enjoyed it. It had a little love story in it even though it was not the main story line. It had a little mischief in it that was very fun. I was a little disappointed in this Fern Michaels book because one of the story lines seemed to just dropped without a real conclusion, however, I better give Ms Michaels the benefit of the doubt, I could have just been so tired when I read it that I missed it. That is SO possible right now. (It was the story line of the "bad guy" anyway so it was not the one I was the most interested in.)

Bet you can't guess what book I am reading now??? You Got It! Mom and I went out with Mr. Justus last week to the book store to get Nicholas Sparks' new book The Lucky One. Yippeeeee! I have already started it and I am already hooked. If I had the time, I could definitely finish it today!!

Family

As Chris and I grew up we both had wonderful friends of the family that we considered Family.

Since we are so far away from our families in NC we have grown to love and consider lots of people our Family, whether they are "blood" or not.

Here are just A FEW pictures of the smiles that we have seen from our family that has encouraged us so so much since Justus has been born.

We are so thankful for all of our Family and the love that has been shown to us. Our household has been so blessed with wonderful Family, both "blood" and not.

Hannah and Justus

The first day Hannah was not sure about everything but she is getting use to it all and seems to love her "Baby Justus." She kisses him bye bye and tells him she loves him and helps feed him and wants to take a bath with him and holds him.

We will see how it goes but for right now, I think Hannah thinks Justus is pretty cool.

Justus

Here are a few pictures of Mr. Justus during his stay in the hospital. He was a very good little boy!!

The Beginning

Well, let's start at the beginning of The Day.
September 25, 2008
Justus' Birth Day!

A nurse was nice enough to take our picture as soon as we got to the hospital. I suppose this counts as my "39 weeks pregnant" picture.

Then, while we waited to see all the doctors before the surgery, we thought we would take a picture of our sexy required attire.

(Did any of you know these "hose" are now required for surgery to help blood clots - I could not take them off for at least 24 hours afterwards! It was kinda weird.)
