New Book

Where the River Ends by Charles Martin was a different kind of book for me but it was good. I will say that it was not the greatest "postpartum" book. If you are even just a little weepy then this will really get you. At first blush you may not call this a love story but I have officially decided it is a love story. A love story that shows just how far true love will go.... all the way to the end. I am definitely interested in reading some of Charles Martin's other books in the future.

Has anyone read any of his other books and have a suggestion?

My next read is not going to be so emotional. It is the next one in the Sisterhood series by Fern Michaels, Collateral Damage. I am very excited. There is another one in the series after this one that "may" be the last one - they say. It comes out in January!

As always, I will let you know how it is.

What'd You Do Today?

Let me tell you what Chris and I did.

We Mr - Clean - Magic - Erasered red crayon off of 3 walls and a bookshelf in the play room today.

THE STORY
Hannah came into the Bonus Room from her Play Room with a red crayon in her hand. Chris was downstairs and I was bouncing Justus in his bouncy seat there in the Bonus Room. Something about the the way she looked, the look of the crayon in her hand, and the odd noise I just at that moment realized I heard a moment ago made me ask Hannah, "what are you coloring on?" She immediately replyed "the walls." (( At least the girl is honest! )) I went and looked in her play room and, yes, she was telling the truth. There was red crayon all over the walls in her playroom and on her shelf in there.

HER PUNISHMENT
She got a small spanking that hurt her feelings, a talking to about only coloring on paper, the crayons taken away, a time of solitude and silence in Mommy's lap while we waited for Daddy to bring up the magis erasers, and then a piece of the magic eraser for herself to help with the clean up. No playing until it was all cleaned.

She definitely knows now not to color on anything but paper. Hopefully she will not test us on this one.

(( I did ask Chris to also bring up the camera with the Magic Erasers, but he forgot so you can blame him for no real pictures of the crime committed. ))

Note to Mom: Where would she have gotten this kind of idea to color red crayon on something light colored and have so much fun with it? I just can't think of any possible way she could have something in her genes that would cause this - can you? Surely you don't have any pictures of anyone in our family committing such a crime as this? Right?

Tag!

My friend Kelli tagged me and so I think I am going to try it. There have been a few of these I have wanted to do lately and I just have not gotten around to it so ..... I am getting this one done for sure!

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person or persons who tagged you. 2. Post the rules on your blog. 3. Write six random things about yourself. 4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them. 5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog 6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Six (6) Random Things about me in no particular order:
  1. I have gotten my hair cut by the same person in NC since I was in high school and I am scared to have it cut by anyone else. This is why my hair only looks OK for 6 weeks every 6 months. I really need to find someone local!
  2. I really like cereal. But I don't like all cereal. My favorite is Cheerios. Plain. No, I do not mean Hunny Nut. I like Plain Cheerios. NO, I do not put sugar on them! Just Cheerios and milk! Yummmmmmy!
  3. I am not a big fan of concerts. They are just not that great to me. I think it is because I don't know enough of any one person's songs to really know what it going on. If you don't know the songs at a concert, it is not like you can learn them there. You can't even understand the person on stage. However, I believe there are a couple of exceptions to this. I could definitely go see the Eagles if they were playing their old stuff and I could probably handle seeing an American Idol tour as long as I watched all the shows!
  4. I learned how to eat chicken from the best! My Grandpop. AND, I do not leave ANY chicken on the bone. None. At all. He taught me well.
  5. I think that people who "entertain" us get paid way too much money. And I think they get paid that money because of us, the people, who are willing to spend so much money on it. Vicious Circle. I wish there was a way to regulate it. I wish we didn't want to put our money into that. I worry that we show where our heart is by what we give our money to. What does that mean about me?
  6. I really like taking pictures. Not sure if you all knew that about me?
Well, Kelli tagged most of us TN Girls (except Laura but she doesn't check hers enough) so I will go with a few others: Sara Jo, Kathy, LeeAnn, Melissa, Wendy, and anyone else who has a blog and hasn't done it yet!

Things are Changing!

About 6 weeks ago (before Justus was born) the 3 of us could not all fit in this chair together.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is so fun. It is nice to have a safe place for our children to "trick or treat" and it is fun to be able to hang out with all your friends in the process and be with all the kids you love so much (whether they are "yours" or not)!

The kids in our congregation have got to be the coolest kids around but I must say I am a little partial to a certain Titans Cheerleader and a very sweet Sweet Pea!

Happy Birthday!

I am so behind!!
Saturday we got to help celebrate Savannah's 2nd birthday!
We had so much fun!

I love this series of pictures of the birthday girl! She was the princess of the day or maybe I should say the Minnie Mouse of the day - whatever!

Big Brother Cole was so sweet!
MY GIRL!
She knows me so well. In the midst of chaos and business, she knows that if she hears me call her sweet name to look at me and just smile because I probably have a camera in my hand.
Please let the record show that Bryan flirted with Hannah first!!
Our sweet baby boy was there - just not quite in on all the action.
Just wait until next year!

KMart

I just found out today that KMart is having a Double Coupon event this week!! I know this does not sound nearly as good as Triple Coupons at Harris Teeter but let me tell you a few things about KMart's event...

#1
They will double coupons up to $2!!

#2
If you have to buy diapers - their big boxes of diapers are on sale anyway so if you have a coupon it is even better!

#3
You can use up to 75 coupons in a transaction.

I am not going to show you how much I got and tell you how much it was because it will not seem that good since I bought BIG ticket items. Let's just say that I got 2 containers of formula, 2 boxes of wipes, and 4 packages of diapers plus lots more! I saved over $30 on items we would have to buy anyway!

If you have coupons that will not triple because they are $1 off or more, you may want to take advantage of this!!

Look At That Smile!

This is from my camera phone so it is a little fuzzy -
but I think you can get the idea!

A Real Bath

Justus has been able to have a "real" bath for a couple of weeks now. Having to worry about getting the belly button wet / submerged can be a pain sometimes so we have been really excited. On top of that, Hannah has been asking to take a bath with Justus since, at least, a month before he was even born.

Needless to say, last week when we allowed Justus to take a bath with Hannah it was a great night for all of us.... Until Hannah realized that Justus was not that fun in the bath. Oh well, he will only get more and more fun as time goes on!

Oh, and by the way, Justus really likes his bath and, as you can see, is not a big fan of having to get out of it!
