James 3:13-18

Ever since Wednesday at Ladies Bible Class I have been thinking about these verses, especially the last 2.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Is your wisdom heavenly or demonic?
Looks like these are the only two choices.
As I exam my "wisdom" I am ashamed at how much of it is earthly.

Christmas Eve Presents

This was such a fun Christmas for Hannah. She really loved all the Christmas stuff and got in to it. It was great to watch. Justus still is learning but is very fun to watch too!

Hannah was really excited to learn that she and Justus could open one present Christmas eve. She chose one of Grandmom and Grandpop's gifts and Justus chose one of Aunt Diane and Uncle Al's gifts. It was fun.

((By the way, those stickers for Hannah were just the perfect thing to do on an airplane for an hour. Perfect!!))

New Book

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella was OK. I had a hard time getting in to it but I am not sure that should go against the book as much as it should go against me. I have been a little busy lately and ever since I finished the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers I have had a hard time getting in to a lot of books in general.

I do want to say that if you want to read Remember Me? you should know that it does have some language in it and it is set in London. It is very light, has some funny parts, and could be a great thoughtless, vacation read.

(By the way, it didn't end up exactly the way my mind of perfect situations wanted it to end up so that is a plus. An ending a little different.)

Next, I am SO excited to be reading one of my Christmas presents, Christmas Jars Reunion by Jason F Wright (my newest favorite author, right there with Nicholas Sparks). I will let you know how it goes - as always.

Sleepy Heads

Because of some crazy circumstances this year we got to fly to NC for our annual after Christmas visit with our parents. This is Hannah and Justus after we landed waiting to get off the plane. Needless to say we were the last off the plane just because we were not sure how to take carry-on luggage and two sleepy babies off the plane.

We were blessed by some great acting sweeties on the plane, though. Hannah and Justus both did really great.

Titus 3:1-8

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another but when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
