Book Completed

I have now finished The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. It was great! The girls really learned a lot about what was really important in life. I liked this one because it addressed the relationship between these four teenage girls and their mothers. It was wonderful how the author showed the complications of a teenager dealing with loving their mom and not understanding her at the same time. I am sure we are all ready for those teenage years... right? Ha Ha Ha!

I thought I would share some of the quotes that she puts at the beginning of each chapter again.
  • Nothing is too wonderful to be true --Michael Faraday
  • There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered. --Nelson Mandela
  • I've had a perfectly wonderful evening, but this wasn't it. --Groucho Marx
  • You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way. --E.L. Doctorow
  • Lovers alone wear sunlight. --E.E. Cummings
  • Life isn't fair. It is just fairer than death, that's all. --William Goldman
  • Time is what keeps things from happening all at once. --Graffiti
  • Fear is that little dark room where negatives are developed. --Michael Prichard
  • There are two tragedies in life. One is not to get your heart's desire. The other is to get it. --George Bernard Shaw
  • There is no remedy for love but to love more. --Henry David Thoreau
I will be starting the third book in the series next. I will let you know how it goes.
