Hannah's Costumes

Yes, I said Hannah's costumeS!

For school we needed something simple so that Hannah's teachers would not hate us at the end of the day. Thank you David, Tonya, Garrett, and Jenna for the M&M onsie. It worked out perfect!

And then for Trunk or Treat, she was our little Punkin' and what a cute little punkin' she is too! Please notice that one eyebrow is darker than the other. Do not be alarmed... No it is not stitches. They did face paint at school and apparently they did not have time to get it all off and since we went straight from school to the church building, there was not time for us the wash it off so ..... here we are. Hannah was the cutest pumpkin with one big eyebrow that I had ever seen. he he he! If I do say so myself.

Trunk or Treat

LOVE IT!

This is the candy that Hannah got verses the candy that she can actually eat. (Except, I thought those were cheese Ritz so she can't eat the peanut butter Ritz.)

This is just some of the beautiful children we got to give candy to. We saw everything.. a car, a table of spaghetti, an M&M, Pippy Longstockings, Raggedy Ann, a Lobster, a dog trainer, Cinderella, a vampire, Benjamin Franklin, a spider, and even Mary Poppins. It was a really fun night.

I am thankful for our church family.

Decoupage

At first Chris thought that I made this word up and it was not real. I literally had to show it to him in the dictionary.

I can't believe I left you hanging after Thankful Thursday. Here are some pictures of OUR decoupaged pumpkin. (The centerpiece of our dining room table right now!) I like Chris' side best. (Chris' side is the side with the "face" - can you see it?) I don't know why I didn't do more. We had plenty. Anyway, it was really fun.

I am so thankful that I have a wonderful husband that will sit on the floor and do this kind of stuff with me. We had lots of fun (no matter what Chris says! he he!).

Wow How They Grow

It has been way too long since I have done a comparison picture. I showed this to Elizabeth a while ago and said I was going to blog about it and I forgot!! One of these pictures of Chloe and Hannah was taken on 9/24/2006 and the other was taken on 8/18/2007. Can you guess which is which??

AND they have changed since then!!

Picture Time!

It IS Sunday!!!

Hannah can wear white at the end of October..... Right?

All to Jesus I Surrender

This song especially touched me this morning.

All to Jesus I Surrender

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee,
my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee,
my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee,
my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

How Many of Me

My sister-in-law found this cool website and I have been meaning to share it with everyone. You can find out how many people in the US have the same name as you! HowManyOfMe.com

There are 1,572,790 Christopher's and 7 with his first and last name.
There are 68,185 Hannah's and no one has her first and last name.

It is pretty neat!!

Hannah's New Thing

She loves to come up behind you and pull your shirt up, rub your back, and then give you a big bear hug. I will take it any time!!

My Man

I saw this on someone else's blog and thought it looked pretty fun.....

MY MAN!
  1. Who is your man? Chris

  2. How long have you been together? including dating, about 7 years.

  3. How long dated? 3 1/2 years

  4. How old is your man? 25

  5. Who eats more? Chris most of the time. But I can keep up when I want.

  6. Who said "I love you" first? I think I did.

  7. Who is taller? Chris

  8. Who sings better? DEFINITELY Chris

  9. Who is smarter? It depends on the subject.

  10. Whose temper is worse? It depends on the situation. In traffic... Definitely Chris. Neither of us have a bad temper at all, I think.

  11. Who does the laundry? Mostly Me but Chris helps.

  12. Who takes out the garbage? Chris. Always Chris. Before we got married my Grandmom told him he had to. Thanks Grandmom.

  13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Chris, Only because it is closer to the door. Wherever we are Chris sleeps closest to the door no matter what side it is.

  14. Who pays the bills? Me.

  15. Who is better with the computer? Depends on the program but mostly Chris is better.

  16. Who mows the lawn? Chris. Always Chris.

  17. Who cooks dinner? What is this "cook" word you speak of. What does this mean? he he he! We don't cook as much as we should. However, Chris is a much better cook than I am but I am learning. We share this responsibility a lot and I am trying to do it more. But I never grill. The grill is Chris'.

  18. Who drives when you are together? Chris, almost always. I have gone weeks without driving and hardly realized it.

  19. Who pays when you go out? It doesn't really matter because it is all the same account but I normally carry the diaper bag instead of my purse so he is the only one who has money when we go out. Long answer to say Chris does.

  20. Who is most stubborn? Depends on the subject. We both are about certain things.

  21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Me. Chris is never wrong.

  22. Whose parents do you see the most? Usually it is about the same but because of some circumstances this year we have seen mine more.

  23. Who kissed who first? Chris kissed me.

  24. Who asked who out? He asked me out.

  25. Who proposed? Chris. He got down on one knee and gave me a dozen roses with the ring in the middle of them. It was a really fun and wonderful evening.

  26. Who is more sensitive? For Sure... ME!

  27. Who has more friends? That is a hard one. I feel like most of our friends now are OUR friends not mine or his.

  28. Who has more siblings? Chris. He has one sister.

  29. Who wears the pants in the family? Chris. Thank Goodness.

Alright, if you have a blog I want to know about your man!!! Spill It!

Thankful Thursday

#1
I am thankful for a patient hubby. He learned how to decoupage tonight. I will post pictures later. He humors me so often and it is so wonderful.

#2
I am thankful for my healthy baby girl. (Even though she is starting to look more and more like a little girl and not a baby.) We went to her 15 month check up today (even though she is 16 months old) and all is well. She is doing so great.

#3
I am thankful for friends that let me ramble and talk, even if they don't know what to say back. I have decided friends are a necessity.

Thank You, Lord, for all of your blessings.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (New American Standard Version)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.

Sunday Pictures

This is last Sunday and this Sunday.

Last Sunday we were running late, for a number of reasons, and I brought the camera to the car. I never thought I would get a great picture in the car but as soon as Hannah saw the camera she started to try to smile and would even repeat me when I said "cheese". It was great. She has never smiled on her on for pictures before. (By the way, she does have a dress on and it is not very short. Car seats do nothing for trying to sit lady like.)

She did it again today and so I had to catch some moments. The only problem with the smiles she does on her own when she sees the camera is that some of the faces don't look like smiles AND she does them very quickly and then gets right back to her other busy work of .... whatever it is that one year old's are busy with.

Hannah is hilarious.

Christopher

Christopher wanted everyone to know who we were rooting for yesterday. Thanks for the hat, Mollie and AW.

Roll Tide!!!

Hannah In Camo

I was way too excited about Hannah's first pair of camouflage pants. I just couldn't help myself, aren't they so cute?

Airports

I have not been my regular blogging self lately. Blogging is my lazy scrap book and the thing that is MY time in the evenings so I have been missing it but things have been so so busy this week. Because of some restructuring at work I have been traveling a lot this week (this won't be normal) but I had to cover for some others this time. I have been in 5 different airports, in 5 different cities, in 5 different states within the last week. Crazy Life, however, I have found airports and airplanes very intriguing.

Airport / Airplane Observations:
  • If you thought that any style was "out" go to an airport and people watch. You will see all the styles of dress that you thought no one did any more. I was a little embarrassed for a couple of people.
  • I look at people's shoes. AND I saw every color shoe you could think of.
  • You walk barefoot on the same part of a floor that, literally, thousands of others have walked before.
  • Every emotion that you could think of, you could find in an airport.
  • Airports, despite what has happened in the past, are probably one of the safest places to be with all the security now.
  • Every class of people and every type of culture can be found under one roof.
  • You overhear and engage in more conversations with strangers than ever.
  • You sit closer to a stranger on a plane than you would ever choose to anywhere else.
  • Because of the close quarters and the smell of alcoholic beverages, I think alcoholic beverages should not be served on the plane. It is gross.
  • People walking around the airport casually drinking a beer makes me feel weird.
  • Love Field Airport in Dallas needs to invest in some signage.
  • For some reason, with all the people in one place, I feel like I should always see someone I know, but I never do.

Thankful Thursday

#1
I am thankful for good communication. Every time I have to travel or Chris has to be out, the fact that we have cell phones that can call each other anytime no matter what and we can talk as long as we want without it costing an arm makes me so happy.

#2
I am thankful for my conscience. Thinking thru things and trying to see all sides of something before I do it it a blessing to be able to do.

#3
I am thankful for my career. The company I work for is great. The job that I do I really like and am thankful for the opportunity to do it.

Proverbs

Tonight I was looking thru a little travel NT, Psalm, Proverbs Bible I have, and went to Proverbs. I opened it up to a passage of scriptures that is titled "Thirty Wise Sayings". It made me think that if we all lived by the wise sayings of Proverbs, what would the world be like? I know 30 is a lot and I won't tell you everything that each of them say but sometime, read Proverbs 22:17 - 24:22. I read the Easy-To-Read Version. Here they are.
  1. It is easy to steal from the poor but don't do it. And don't take advantage of them in court.
  2. Don't be friends with people who become angry easily. Don't stay around short-tempered people.
  3. Don't promise to pay someone else's debt.
  4. Never move an old property line that was marked long ago by your ancestors.
  5. Skilled workers will always serve kings.
  6. When you sit and eat with an important person, remember who you are with. Never eat too much, even if you are hungry.
  7. Don't ruin your health by trying to get rich. If you are smart, you will give it up.
  8. Don't eat with selfish people. Control any desire you have for their finest foods.
  9. Don't try to teach fools. They will make fun of your wise words.
  10. Never move an old property line and don't take land that belongs to orphans. The Lord will be against you. He is powerful and protects orphans.
  11. Listen to your teacher and learn all you can.
  12. Always correct children when they need it. If you spank them, it will not kill them. In fact, you might save their lives.
  13. It makes me happy when you make a wise decision. It makes be feel good inside when you say the right things.
  14. Never envy evil people but always respect the Lord.
  15. Don't make friends with people who drink too much wine and eat too much food.
  16. Listen to your father. Without him you would never have been born. Respect your mother even when she is old.
  17. Prostitutes and bad women are a trap. A bad woman waits for you like a thief, and she causes many men to be unfaithful to their wives.
  18. Who gives into fights and arguments? Who gets hurt for no reason and has red, bloodshot eyes? People who stay out too late drinking wine, staring into their strong drinks.
  19. Don't be jealous of evil people. Have no desire to be around them.
  20. Good homes are built on wisdom and understand.
  21. Wisdom makes a man more powerful. Knowledge gives a man strength.
  22. Fools cannot understand wisdom. They have nothing to say when people are discussing important things.
  23. If you start planning ways to do wrong, people will learn that you are a troublemaker.
  24. If you are weak in times of trouble, that is real weakness.
  25. If you see someone on their way to death or in danger of being killed, you must do something to save them.
  26. Eat honey. It is good. Honey straight from the honeycomb in the sweetest.
  27. Good people might fall again and again, but they always get up. It is the wicked who are defeated by their troubles.
  28. Don't be happy when your enemy has troubles.
  29. Don't let those who are evil upset you, and don't be jealous of them. They have no hope.
  30. Respect the Lord and the king and don't join with those who are against them, because people like that can quickly be destroyed.

Hope you enjoyed the Thirty Wise Sayings I found. Do you have a favorite? I think #26 through me for a loop.

Vacation - Fun Stuff

I just cracked up at this smile Hannah was giving me behind her Daddy's back!

Nana and Hannah painted their toenails. Painted toenails look so funny on toes that little.

Hannah's first "real" ponytail.

I think she kept wondering when we would be done shopping. Those questioning eyes kept looking up at me.

Of course, even on vacation we have to have our Sunday picture. Papa Joe was lucky enough to be in this one. What do you think of our balcony view... Isn't it beautiful?

To me, her hair looks so grown up here.

Have I told you lately that Hannah still likes Macaroni and Cheese?

We got worried about Hannah's scalp getting burned and I didn't want to put suntan lotion in her hair so we got her this hat. It took her a little bit but she got use to it.

She thought she was SO big "holding on" in the elevator all by herself!
