Flowers

Today I was looking for clip art for a presentation I am creating for work and I found some stuff that I liked ... just for me ... not for my project. Anyway, I was looking at all the ones I liked and I described myself in a way I never have before. I just never realized that I am a flower person. I don't mean real flowers or gardening or growing anything (don't panic Chris) but I mean designs. I saw all these today and pictured them as a mural in our home and decorating a whole room based on one of them. I pictured stationary and note cards. I pictured a cute purse that I would want or a picture I would want to put in a frame for a big wide mat and hang up in a center spot in our home. Anyway, I think it is official, I am a flower kind of girl. No apologies. I think they are beautiful.

Chuck E Cheese

Tonight is the last night for our big family of 8 to be together under one roof. Elizabeth and Keith are closing on their house tomorrow and staying in their brand spankin' new house tomorrow night. I am so excited that they are getting to finally have a house to call theirs but they will be missed. We have all had lots of fun this summer.

We decided to go to Chuck E Cheese on our last night together. Of course, after we ate we all went our separate ways to play all different games so I only got pictures of Hannah but we were all together. It was a fun evening.

Pray for Keith and Elizabeth during the move this week. Pray for little stress and safe and successful moving!

New Hair Do

Today, for worship, I tried to do Hannah's hair a little different since it has grown so much. It was fun but looked a little funny to me because I had never seen her like that before. It did help the bow to stay in longer this week. She didn't pull it out until we were close to the sermon!! That is pretty good. So, what do you think??? (Ignore the booger.)

New Site

I have added a new site to my "Favorite Site" list. You all should check it out. It is babyblogaddict.com. It has tons of neat info about babies and kids. It was fun to check out. One of the best ones is "Why Dads shouldn't Buy Baby Clothes." I laughed out loud. Enjoy.

Change

I have made it to where if you want to comment on my blog or see the comments it is in a pop up now instead of changing the whole screen. I like that better when I am commenting on other's blogs. However, when you click on it it usually takes you to where you can comment which is at the bottom of the pop up. I just wanted to let you know that you can still see all the other comments, you may just have to scroll up.

I may have confused instead of help. Just know you can still do all the same stuff even though it looks different. Let me know what you think.

Evening With the Moss'

We went over to Sara Jo and Matt's house last weekend and I am just now getting to share the pictures. I am sorry it took so long. Sara Jo and I decided to dress Savannah and Hannah alike and take some pictures. There are a couple of things we were not expecting.

First, Hannah is drooling like a champ and so her outfit looks a little different color than Savannah's because of all the drool.

Second, I am not sure Savannah knew what was going on behind her back!!!

Favorite Friday

This week's Favorite Friday is Favorite Recipe that my mom has given me. My mom has given me a lot of good ones.. AND easy ones too. Those who know me probably won't be surprised to know that my favorite is the one that is the easiest and involves Doritos.

Taco Salad

Ingredients (I am not sure how to make a small amount?)

1 pound of ground beef, browned and drained
3/4 head of lettuce, chopped up
1/3 a big block of cheddar cheese shredded
1/2 a big bag of Doritos, crushed
Catalina Dressing
1 can of sweet corn (optional)
2 medium size tomatoes, chopped up (optional)

Mix lettuce and cheese in big bowl
Add Meat
Add Dressing and mix to taste
Add Doritos to the bowl and mix
If you want corn and/or tomatoes add them also.

Yummmy! It is so good and so easy!

Thankful Thursdays

Last night and this morning, my Internet was down at home, so work with me on this post…..

I am going to give you all a weekly challenge. I am going to call it Thankful Thursdays. Every Thursday I think we should post 3 things we are thankful for. Anything from hair straighteners to family to the United States to Jesus that you would like to share that week. And for those of you who don’t have blogs feel free to put a comment in ours telling us something you are thankful for.

I am going to start this week… Sorry that I did not actually start on a Thursday. I had every intention to but was not able because of the Internet problems. Hopefully is it all better by the time I get home this afternoon.

#1 I am thankful for my eyelashes. They do a great job of keeping the dust out of my eyes. When Sara Jo and I were counselors at Bible camp together one of the ideas we wanted to get thru to our girls is that God gives us all we have and so we can be thankful and pray for the smallest and biggest of things. One of the ways I would get this point across is when leading a prayer I would list some things I was thankful for and I would be sure to list small and big things even if it wasn’t the types of things we normally thanked God for. Well, one day I thanked God for our eyelashes. The girls thought that was great and so they would call us “the girls who pray for eyelashes”. We kindof laughed about it but I think it made a lasting impression. Thank you Lord, for giving us our eyelashes.

#2 I am thankful for my daughter’s health. I know that God will get me thru anything that comes my way but when I read the struggles of Ethan Powell’s parents on their website (Thank You Elizabeth for introducing them to me.) I just wonder if I could really get thru that. I feel like I am not sure I could. Please pray for Ethan Powell. www.ethanpowell.com Thank you Lord, for Hannah’s good health.

#3 I am thankful for the girls in my church family here at home. Sometimes I think about them and all of the different ideas we have and all of the different situations we are in and all of the different kinds of families we have and wonder how we can all have so much fun together even though we are SO different. Then I realize that we have so much fun together because we are all SO different. I wish I could spend more time with them than I get to, and know them even better than I do but with all that goes on in our different families I think we do a pretty good job of keeping in touch. I really feel I could turn to the ladies within the church for anything I needed. I love all you girls very much. Thank you Lord, for my church family.

Hannah's New Thing

When Hannah is very serious about something or just sitting there she will stick her bottom lip out. Well, one day I stuck my bottom lip out back at her and she thought it was so funny. She will do it back to you and then we both laugh and then we do it again. The funny thing is when she tries to stick her bottom lip out while she is still laughing and can't because she is smiling. It is so funny. I am so thankful for the simple laughter Hannah brings to me and Chris.

Anniversary

3 Years ago today I married the perfect man for me. (Ladies, you know I think he is the perfect man ever but I understand you may think that about your hubbies too so I added the "for me" part just for you.) We have had a wonderful 3 years and I look forward to spending many many many more with him.

I did realize, as I was trying to do this post that I do not have a lot of wedding pictures of Chris and I on the computer. I have a lot of wedding pictures but they are all in albums. Weird. Anyway, our wedding was absolutely perfect and beautiful. Everything was done ahead of time, I did not stress, I enjoyed every minute of it and remember it all. We had SO much fun!!

One day when we were dating (I don't think we had been dating very long), a song came on the radio and Chris informed me that he had decided it was our song. We played it at our reception. Chris is so sweet.

I Fall
Brooks and Dunn

I breeze through the day
And nothin' much seems to get in my way
I don't have a care at all
You walk in the room
It's always the same
You call out my name
I turn
You smile
I fall

I'm at home at night
Just me and the moon
But doin' all right
When out of the blue you call
I hang up the phone

I lay down in bed
Your still in my head
I dream
You smile
I fall

Oh what could this feeling be
Could it really be love
That's happening to me
Oh yeah yeah

The closer you get
The harder it is to keep it together
I don't have a chance at all
It's out of my hands
Oh but what can I do
I'm crazy for you
We touch
You smile
I fall

Oh Yeah
We touch
You smile
I fall

Tough

This morning, on the way to work, this song brought tears to my eyes. It is so sweet so I thought I would share.

Tough
Craig Morgan

She’s in the kitchen at the crack of dawn
Bacon’s on, coffee’s strong
Kids running wild, taking off their clothes
If she’s a nervous wreck, well it never shows
Takes one to football and one to dance
Hits the Y for aerobics class
Drops by the bank, stops at the store
Has on a smile when I walk through the door
The last to go to bed, she’ll be the first one up
And I thought I was tough

Chorus
She’s strong, pushes on, can’t slow her down
She can take anything life dishes out
There was a time
Back before she was mine
When I thought I was tough

We sat there five years ago
The doctors let us know, the test showed
She’d have to fight to live, I broke down and cried
She held me and said it’s gonna be alright
She wore that wig to church
Pink ribbon pinned there on her shirt
No room for fear, full of faith
Hands held high singing Amazing Grace
Never once complained, refusing to give up
And I thought I was tough

Chorus
She’s strong, pushes on, can’t slow her down
She can take anything life dishes out
There was a time Back before she was mine
When I thought I was tough

She’s a gentle word, the sweetest kiss
A velvet touch against my skin I’ve seen her cry,
I’ve seen her break
But in my eyes, she’ll always be strong
There was a time
Back before she was mine
When I thought I was tough

Humor

I am not very big on the forwarded emails thing but I do participate every once in a while. I got one that I just had to giggle about - you can call me a nerd if you want - but they are funny little "one" liners. I have heard a lot of them before but I needed to see them again. Hope you enjoy!

You make all things new

I just read the blog of someone I don't really know and they had a YouTube song on it. I didn't listen to the entire song but I read a quote she put in her post from the song. It moved me.

"You make all things new"
Jesus heals the scars of the abused,
gives a name to the forgotten,
lifts the face of the ridiculed....
He truly does make all things right and whole again.

Thank you, Lord, for all you do and all you have given us.

Too Thankful?

I am so thankful for Hand - Me - Downs. A friend of Chris' Mom handed this dress down to Hannah (along with a bag full of other things) and we just love it.

I think I have blogged about being thankful for Hand-Me-Downs before a couple of times but, really, can you be too thankful??

Hannah Update

She still likes Macaroni and Cheese. And she now eats balls of watermelon like we eat apples. It is wonderful.

Favorite Friday

Yes, it is BACK! Favorite Friday. I want to encourage all readers who are also bloggers to blog about the Favorite Friday topic. Anytime!!

So, I know it isn't Friday. Sorry, Sara Jo. I will be honest, I just got too lazy last night. This weeks topic is Favorite Vacation Spot. Mine is hands down Marco Island. That is where Chris and I went for our honeymoon and we are so excited to get to go back this year. It is BEEEutiful! If you have a chance to go --- GO!

What Do You Think?

I have been thinking of changing up the colors on my blog for a while. I wanted to change it for the Spring if that tells you anything about how long I have been thinking of it. Anyway, I was afraid it was going to be too much trouble. I found this link on someone else's blog that has some really neat templates. Go to Shabby Tulips and see what they have. You can look at examples and they give you really easy instructions on how to get on your blog. It also tells you how to make your own template. I didn't tackle that yet!!

Here are a few hints. Look at how much room it gives for all of your things. I am a little disappointed that some of the titles to my posts now don't fit on one line. Also, I kinda wish I had chosen something that is wider for the actual posts.

Here is the kicker. If you have any links on your blog, a counter, or use google analytics you have to put it all on there again. You do not loose your google analytics stuff, you just have to find the URL for it again. Also, you have to put your links and friends on it again. This is why, once I discovered the things I didn't like about it.. I didn't change it. It takes a while. BUT I really love the BIG polka dots so I am excited about the change for a little while. We will see if I get use to it or not.

What do you think of mine?
Go to the link above and look at the ones they have..
(Click on the words "Shabby Tulips")
Which is your favorite?

I think we should all change it up every once in a while.
