How Deep The Father's Love

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That he should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
the Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to Glory

Behold the Man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath had brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from his reward?
I can not give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Love This Song!!
It makes me want to shout out the promise to the top of my lungs...
I WILL BOAST IN JESUS CHRIST!!!
Oh how proud we should be of Him!!!

Oh My! He Is Growing Up

Did I mention yesterday that after Justus prayed I put him into a big boy bed for his nap?
And that he did great?

Saturday's Sign

When you see the Signalman Sign you should think of:

Zechariah 10:8
I will signal for them and gather them in. Surely I will redeem them; they will be as numerous as before.

Prayer

My boy loves to pray.

Usually, if you start to pray he will say "No! Justus Pray." He will then let you pray when he is finished. :-)

However, if you have heard it you know he doesn't actually say anything.

It is normally "garble garble garble Amen."

Wednesday of this week when we prayed before I put him in his bed for nap he really prayed.

He said:
"Thank You God. Bye Bye God. Amen"

I almost cried. It was so precious.

Books

I have been finished with The Time Traveler's Wife for a while now - I am just very behind on my blog. This book was good, however, you have to trust the author a great deal. There are A LOT of time and place and age differences in the book and if you try to go back and calculate and be sure you see it all straight at every moment you will drive yourself crazy!

Read it and trust it and it will all be good.

It is interesting. There are a few moral dilemmas discussed that were interesting, however would never really come in real life. There is quite some foul language in it - be ware!

I watched the movie after I read it and it was good. It left out, at least, 2 major (in my opinion) characters, one of which was one of my favorites. There is NO way that everything could be put in a movie in any kind of good way though so I guess I understand.

SO, moving on. I am now going to start reading a book that is really a compilation of 5 books called The Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers. The 5 books are:
  • Unveiled - about Tamar
  • Unashamed - about Rahab
  • Unshaken - about Ruth
  • Unspoken - about Bathsheba
  • Unafraid - about Mary
I plan to read about each person from the Bible first and then read these books. It may take me a while since I am not finding the time I really want to read lately but I think this will be a neat study.

I will let you know how it goes.

"First" Day of School

I say "first" in quotes because it was really a half day and parents stayed and had a parent meeting. SO, it wasn't really the first real day.

Anyway!

Everyone was so excited. It was a fun fun Sunshine Smile Day!!

Justus really didn't want his picture taken with his backpack on. He wanted to wear his backpack and as you can see - later with just his drink - he was cheeeeseing it wanting his picture taken - but definitely didn't want both at the same time!

Please note (near the end) the picture of the school first timer!! Go Layne!!

What a Cute Little Basket

When you see a cute little basket like this you might think "Aww what a sweet little Easter basket" or "what a great little thing for a sweet girl to carry her precious items in when playing" or "this could be like a reusable bag for when the kids are playing grocery store."

However, when you give it to my daughter it suddenly becomes a motorcycle helmet! Surprised you didn't think of that one! :-)

This Boy

Justus is stealing some hearts. Let. Me. Tell. You!!

He is growing up so so fast. He has the most precious expressions.

He now has a "pout" when he is in trouble and he is trying not to cry.

We went to the fair and he rode every ride we let him ride. BUT he was serious about it. He would smile slightly and want to ride again and obviously liked it, but it was serious. He was not giddy or loud - just smiled. I think he gets this from me. Every time I like something I don't always go crazy. I can smile and say I liked it and am being truthful without jumping up and down for great joy!!

His words are getting better. He is still not saying the letter s or r very well. And he still loves the letter k sound.

For Example:
He says "ball" clearly. He says "baby" clearly. However the word banana is "kickynanna." It cracks me up.

When I let him talk on the phone I tell him to say "goodbye" and "I love you" but he always say "bye bye thank you" instead.

What a crazy little thing.

And what a cutie!!!
