Our Sunday Pictures

(Justus would not look at me because of the sun!)

And the one that made me laugh this week....
Hannah being nosy and trying to peak thru our neighbor's fence.
(In her defense, their dog was right there barking at her.)

Galatians 1:6-10

I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received , he is to be accursed!

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.

The Trend

OK, so I know this "look" is "in." (Speaking of Hannah's outfit.)

And I have to say that, because my daughter asks me every day if she can wear a dress, I am thankful the "look" is in.

(Yes, I know that this dress is a little big. And yes, I know that she has learned to hide her hands in her sleeve and yes, I can now understand why it bothered my mom so much when I did it.)

But, moving on, I am just not sure I like it.

Pants/leggings with a dress. It is a little odd to me. I am not really sure I like the way it looks. This is a battle I am not going to fight. I don't think it is worth it, but I did need to get my feelings out there.

I am just not sure about it!

Announcement

I have done this before.
I am doing it again.

I keep thinking about it.

Look at this picture!

I love it.
I need a picture of it in my home.
Really!! I am very serious.
Can anyone, anywhere, please tell me where I can get it?
Please!

**please note: I will keep asking periodically until I find it.**

Twirling

This past Sunday Hannah asked me to take Sunday Pictures of her twirling. It was so cute. I took these and then as soon as we got inside she HAD to show them to Daddy. She was so proud.

Out Takes

So, I take quite a few pictures of the kids on Sunday. Some weeks go better than others. But I have a couple of out takes from the Sunday Pictures of the last couple of weeks that I just thought were hilarious and so I thought I would share.

First, I call this the "Huh?" picture. They were really not as upset as this picture seems to show.

Next, this is Justus mad at me because I am making him stay in the chair. He obviously wants to get down.

And last, Hannah's cough. She was smiling so pretty when I started to push the camera button but this is what we got. (And I think it is funny that she wanted to take her Sunday pictures in her new car seat.)

Hope you got a little giggle.
I did.

Thanks, Landon!

Thanks to my sister-in-law, (and some other generous friends) I have had to buy very few clothes for Justus.

One of the things that Justus got handed down from his cousin Landon was this pair of overalls.

Chris was so excited.

Melissa, you may want to check to be COMPLETELY SURE you get this one back. :-)

How Many?

How many mini glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts equals one full sized glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut?

I think 5.

So I really only ate one and a half real doughnuts right?

Just let me keep telling myself that, please!

Valentine's Party

Hannah had a Valentine's Party at school last week. She had lots of fun.

She got to hang out with Daddy which her teachers said she would NOT stop talking about. She LOVES it when Daddy comes to school to hang out.

She got to decorate a cookie. How beautiful.

And then she got a little bag full of goodies from all her friends in her class. It was a fun fun day. Hannah had a wonderful time.

In Christ Alone

I heard this song back in November at a wedding.
I kept the music and gave it to our song leader where we worship and he knew it so he taught the congregation and last weekend we sang it at Sunday morning and evening service. So far, tears have come to my eyes every time I have sung this song.

In Christ Alone
by Keith Getty and Stuart Townsend

In Christ alone, my hope is found, he is my light, my stength, my song.
This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand!

In Christ a life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand;
'Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save.
"til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied,
For every sin on Him was laid. Here in the death of Christ I live!

There in the life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand;
'Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

There in the ground His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave he rose again.
And as he stands for victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on my.
For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand;
'Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

Happy Valentine's Day

(Yes, I know it was yesterday.)

Chris' parents came to visit and they let Chris and I go out alone on Saturday and Chris planned the evening.

First we went to a little "dive" of a place that we both LOVE but it is a little far from home and we can't go often. It was SO SO yummy. Most who go there would not think it romantic but it is "us"! My OBGYN is near there so we use to always go when we had doc appts when I was pregnant. And we have been going there together for a very long time before that! Yummmy!

Next, Chris surprised me. If you are not friends with him on facebook you may not know where we went so here are a few hints. See if you can guess....

#1 Us trying to get a picture together before we left. Can anyone guess by these pictures?
#2 This is us when we were actually there at the surprise. Any guesses?
#3 This is what we were looking at in the picture above. Do you think you know what we did?
#4 This is what we were wearing in the picture with clue #2.

Yes, we went ice skating.
Yes, I was terrified.
Yes, I learned that my husband can skate!
Yes, I had lots of fun and yes I cuddled with my hubby ALL night!

I was so nervous about having a boy.
(Technically, I am still nervous.)

But, very quickly, he is just melting my heart!

New Book

Ahhhhhh! The nice peaceful feeling of reading a Love Inspired book. April in Bloom was good. It is very warm fuzzy, and sweet with a little funny in there. I really do love reading these books. This one, in particular, though was interesting because it talked about a Christian that is too scared to do the wrong thing that they don't do anything at all. I am so tempted to do that myself some times.

I think "Luke-Warmness" is one of the devil's tactics to get us.

One of the main verses in this book was Isaiah 58:11 which says The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

And then tonight the speaker reads these words from Jesus in Revelation 3 I know of your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Whew! Lots to think on.

My next book is a Fern Michaels book. It is called Celebration. I feel like it has been a while since I have read one of hers and so I am excited. This is an older one so it will be interesting for me. It looks to be a little different. I will let you know.

References

Have you ever taken a scripture (just one or two verses) and then followed the referenced scriptures in your Bible just to see where it leads? It is pretty fun. I did that the other day and was especially touched so I thought I would share.

We are studying James in Ladies Bible Class and I have not been able to be there is a few weeks. So, I was reading it to catch myself up. James is where we start then...

James 5:19-20
Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sin.

This referred me to

1 Peter 4:8
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers, and above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.

This referred me to

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.

And then this referred me to

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not see its own, is not provoked, things no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all thing. Love never fails.

Interesting Information

So, let's say, you are snowed in your house. And, let's just say, maybe the walls seem to be closing in on you by the hour. And, let's pretend, say.... You want to do something a little different since you have a moment downstairs in the kitchen by your self while fixing supper.

You look in your pantry and you have a cake mix that is not yet out of date, however, you can not remember buying it. And, what'd ya know?! There beside it is a jar of cream cheese icing - your favorite. (Again, not out of date but unsure of how you aquired it.)

Now, add to that thought, you don't really have a cake pan but you do have a cool looking bundt pan that you would like to use...

What do you do? You can't really ice a bundt cake and you don't have any of the ingredients to make your own glaze. Let's say you google it and no one will really confirm what you can and can not do with a jar of icing and it still be OK.

Let me tell you...

You put the icing and a LITTLE bit of milk (I put too much at first and had to pour some out) in a bowl and microwave it. Then pour on and Wa La! It works and it is good!

Yippppeeeeeeee!

Conversations With Hannah

#1
I am trying to teach Hannah the Knock Knock joke where you say "apple" or "banana" 3 times and then finally you say "orange" and they say "orange who" and you say "orange you glad I didn't say ...... apple/banana" You know!

Anyway, at supper the other night it went like this:
Hannah: Knock Knock
Daddy: Who's There?
Hannah: Cake
Daddy: Cake Who?
Hannah: Knock Knock
Daddy: Who's There?
Hannah: Nobody
Daddy: Nobody Who?
Hannah: No, Daddy the one who says "Nobody" wins!

#2
On our way to worship Sunday morning in snow and ice but with Bright Bright sunshine:

"Look Mommy. Look Daddy. The snow has sparkles. It's pretty!"

I can't believe I hadn't even noticed. It was Beautiful!

#3
Hannah: Mommy, when are God and Jesus going to come from heaven?
Me: I don't know. Soon I hope. What do you think?
Hannah: What are they going to do when they come from heaven?
Me: They are going to take all the people that obeyed Him back to heaven with them.
Hannah: (with her scared face) I don't think I want to go to heaven.
Me: Heaven is the best place to be - ever.
Silence
Me: Hannah, what do you like most? Lollipops?
Hannah: Yes
Me: Well heaven will be like a place full of lollipops for you, but even better!
Hannah: Will I get a lollipop?
Me: (oh no, we have drifted) It will be LIKE lollipops everywhere. You will need to ask God about it.
Hannah: If they have chocolate lollipops and yummy lollipops in heaven, I want a chocolate one and a yummy one.
Me: Hannah, I just mean heaven will be wonderful and you will definitely want to be there.
Hannah: If I am in heaven and ask about lollipops, I just want to ask God, not Jesus.
Me: Ok, Hannah, Night Night.
Hannah: Night Night

Watch Out!

If you let 2 couples (some of your greatest friends in the world) watch your children for the evening and both couples have 2 daughters and no sons....

They may have a little too much fun with your son!

(Especially the Daddys)
