Too Much Information

So, I have been trying to decide on things to blog. Today I sat down to try and do a collage and after an hour and it still was not done, I gave up. Then I read my friend Patrice's blog and I had not done one of these tag things in a while so... I thought ..... why not. It will be fun!!

Here we go.

What experience has shaped you most and why?

Getting married. For sure! Learning to be more than just a christian woman but to also learn to be a christian wife and mother has been an indescribable experience. And then to see a man grow into such a beautiful christian husband and father is breathtaking. This experience hasn't ended and is getting more and more amazing.

If you had a whole day with no commitments, what would you do?
I would sleep in, eat my favorite foods all day (even late at night), read, blog, call and email friends, have a girls afternoon, and go visit some people that I want to give hugs to.

What food or drink could you never give up?
Diet Coke, Doritos, French Fries dipped in ranch dressing

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
Somewhere in the country.
Somewhere I have not been.
With Chris (alone)!!
((The place that has always attracted me most is Seattle, WA but I am not sure why.))

Who do you have a crush on?
Besides Chris...
Michael Jordan (before I knew about his gambling problem)

If you were leader of your country, what would you do?
PRAY!
But please know - I don't want the job!

Give me one savory recipe that doesn’t include cheese.
French Breakfast Puffs

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
A High School Math Teacher (preferably algebra and geometry)

If you could spend just one day in someone else’s body, who would it be?
OK, so do I just get the other person's body? If so, Kelly Rippa - I think she is pretty.
Or do I get to be a fly on the wall of that person's brain? If so, Hannah. What is she thinking?

Which woman writer, living or dead, do you admire most?
Francine Rivers. She has written books that have changed my life. Oh to have the faith of Hadassah!

What character trait inspires you the most?
Prayerful.

What is your favorite kind of music?
This one is tricky. In my heart of hearts, I am an R&B/Dance Music fan, however, those do no always talk about very nice things so I don't listen to it. These days my favorite for the family are the groups A Capella and Zoe, mainly because my heart sores when my children are singing that music. Thanks to Chris, I am also a country music fan.

What is one fact about you that most people who know you wouldn’t guess?
That at one point in my life I was sure God had a plan for me to be single. God brought Chris into my life very shortly after that conclusion and proved I must have heard Him wrong.

If money were no object, what's one thing you don't own now or can't afford to do that you'd like to have or do?
ONE THING?
For me, I would like to have a kitchen remodel so I can fit more guests in comfortably.
To do, I have a friend right now that is trying to adopt or have children. I would fund whatever it is that she needed in order to do one or both of those things.

PRETTY FUN!!!
Consider yourself tagged... Your turn to answer the questions. Copy and paste in your blog. If you do it let me know so that I can go read!!

Saturday's Sign

When you see the Freeway Entrance sign you should think of:

Romans 3:22-24

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

Captivating

I wanted to share with you a paragraph from the book my Friday Book Group is reading. It is Captivating, Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge

Shame makes us feel very uncomfortable with our beauty. Women are beautiful, every single one of us. It is one of the glorious ways that we bear the image of God. But few of us believe we are beautiful, and fewer still are comfortable with it. We either think we don't have any beauty or if we do, that it's dangerous and bad. So we hide our beauty behind extra weight and layers of unnecessary makeup. Or we neutralize our beauty by putting up protective, defensive walls that warn others to keep their distance....

... Much of what we call our "personalities" is actually the mosaic of our choices for self-protection plus our plan to get something of the love we were created for.

The problem is our plan has nothing to do with God.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

I have a beautiful new friend named Ashley. (As an adult it sounds a little weird saying something like that but.. it's true!) :-)

She shared a little bit of her family background with the Book Club group on Friday and she shared a verse from the Bible that she says she read over and over and that she clung to in tough times. I have been thinking about it ever since and thought I would share with you.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me and I will listen to you. And you will see Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Thanks Ashley for reminding us of this encouraging scripture.

Hannah's Haircut

Yes, Hannah got a hair cut (trim) too. She was a big girl and actually leaned back and got her hair washed and everything. She did a great job!AND because she was a big girl, as promised, she got her fingernails painted! She was so excited.
Funny Side Note: I wanted to see the name of the color she chose and I was hoping it was something so cute (like bubblegum or pink jello) that I could tell her and she could tell others, however, to my disappointment, she chose the color "Feelin' Hot! Hot! Hot!" Couldn't brag about that "cute" color! :-)

Our Sunday Pictures

Hannah loved her hand-me-down dress today (Thank You Perry) and wanted to be sure everyone saw the BIG flower on it. Hence, the cutsie pose. She is a trip.
We tried to get pictures of me and Chris and...
...well, you decide for yourself.

Chris took this one.
(Why are both of our heads facing up? Were we trying to get a picture of our necks?)Hannah took this oneAnd I took this one
I think it was just not meant to be today.

Saturday's Sign

When you see the Road Narrows sign you should think of:

Matthew 7: 13-14 When you find that the road narrows on your trip, contemplate a choice you are (or will be) facing. While it may seem difficult to do what is right, know that God is with you through it all. Pray that you find the narrow path that leads to what is right and good.

Worn Out

While at the beach Chris had a "need" for some water slides. The kids (and adults) had a great time! Can you believe this is the only picture I got from this event? (MawMaw and Aunt Melissa will have to share some of their pictures with me.) He was WORN out! Please Note that he fell asleep while reading Sports Illustrated. The "book" he asked for as soon as he got into the car! That's Our Boy!! :-)

Picnik With Cousins

Couple of things...

There is a girl who worships with my parents in North Carolina named Kiera. She has a blog and she always does cool things with her pictures. I finally, last Sunday, got a chance to stop her after worship and ask her what program she did all her picture stuff in. She told me she used Picnik. SO, of course, as soon as we could my mom and I looked at it. It is great! We love it.

One of the great things about going to NC is that Hannah and Justus get to see their cousin Landon. Chris' parents (and the whole family) always want to try to get all 3 of them in a picture together. Hannah and Landon are finally at a age where they will pose for us pretty well but Justus is not quite there yet. This is the best one I got and their eyes still did something funny. Anyway, I decided to play a little bit with the picture of the 3 of them in Picnik. Doesn't it do some cool stuff? (The top is the original picture.)

Can you tell which one I gave them a tan in, white teeth, and "bright" eyes?? :-)

When It Rains...

... and "Mindy's Backyard Water Day" (that she promised to 7 little girls and 1 little boy) is canceled, you should definitely turn it into a movie day! Definitely.
