Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a patient hubby. He learned how to decoupage tonight. I will post pictures later. He humors me so often and it is so wonderful.

I am thankful for my healthy baby girl. (Even though she is starting to look more and more like a little girl and not a baby.) We went to her 15 month check up today (even though she is 16 months old) and all is well. She is doing so great.

I am thankful for friends that let me ramble and talk, even if they don't know what to say back. I have decided friends are a necessity.

I am thankful for good communication. Every time I have to travel or Chris has to be out, the fact that we have cell phones that can call each other anytime no matter what and we can talk as long as we want without it costing an arm makes me so happy.

I am thankful for my conscience. Thinking thru things and trying to see all sides of something before I do it it a blessing to be able to do.

I am thankful for my career. The company I work for is great. The job that I do I really like and am thankful for the opportunity to do it.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for vacations. Chris, Hannah, and I leave for FL a week from today and will be there for over a week. We can't wait!! (This may be on my Thankful Thursday list next week too!)

I am thankful for husbands who love and respect their wives. It is amazing the things that some men say at the work place when their wives are not around and they are talking to other men. I know that all men are not like this. I hate that the rotten couple of guys give the whole group a bad name. The men, however, who love and respect their wives, even when they are away from them are awesome!

I am thankful for cell phones. I know that there are a lot of people out there who are using a cell phone for conversations and there are complaints about them being in schools and talking while driving and ringing in the work place and blah blah blah.... I know there are some bad things that have come along with cell phones but I really enjoy having one. It is nice to know these days that I can talk to people who don't live in my town and not have to worry about money. It is nice to I know when I am out if something happens on the road I can call Chris. It is nice to know that my husband can contact me anytime anywhere (as long as I hear it :-) ). I will say it. I like cell phones.

I am thankful for Infants Motrin and I feel that in the future I will also be thankful for Children's Motrin. When those stubborn teeth are coming in Motrin really helps Hannah out and makes her teacher's, Chris', and my life much easier(and quieter).

I am thankful for that little pebble ice. Some people call it rabbit poop ice. You know the kind that is in the little oval balls. Anyway, after a crazy day and then you go out to eat somewhere and surprisingly they have it, it just makes my day better. I went up tonight and got a refill of ice. You can find this ice at Bar-B-Cutie, and Mo's Southwest Grill. This is also the kind of ice they have at the hospital when you are having a baby. I just loved it! The shape really does make a difference.

I am thankful for my husband's ability to make our Hannah smile. We can be anywhere and he is willing to do anything (make funny faces, prance around with her on her shoulders, chase her around something, make funny noises, anything) to help get her to be happy. He is such a wonderful Daddy. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband who is a wonderful daddy to Hannah.

My grandparents are in Ireland right now. They have been doing mission work there since I can remember. It makes them so happy to be there. Sometimes I think that if they had it their way they would take all the people they love here in the US, pack them in a suit case and take us all to Ireland to live. Anyway, I am thankful they were able to go this year. It has made them very happy.

I am thankful for authors who write good love stories. It really helps me to have something for my me time.

I am thankful for the photographer who takes Hannah's pictures, Julie. She is the best. She talks to me about what I want, she lets me get all kinds of pictures of Hannah and us, and she is flexible about when she can meet with us. I am looking at one of her photographers here in a frame on our desk. It is of our whole family. I just love it. I am so thankful she does it.

Thankful Thursday

#1 I am thankful for sleepy children. The ladies at church had game night tonight and Chris wasn't feeling good. Luckily, Hannah seemed pretty sleepy and so I put her to bed at 6.50 tonight and made sure Chris was OK in bed and left. I just couldn't miss game night!

#2 I am thankful for laptops. Because of laptops I am going to get to work from home 2 days a week! Yippeeeeeee!

#3 I am thankful for soft toilet paper. I think the reasons are pretty obvious so I won't list them. Can you imagine if we all had to use school toilet paper all the time?? Craziness.

I am thankful for my Christopher. He is so good to me. I have already started telling Hannah on a regular basis not to settle for anyone less that what her father is like. She should only have the best. I pray that Hannah finds someone who completes her the way Chris completes me. (I am not trying to quote a movie... I am serious.)

I am thankful for those ergonomic keyboards. With as much typing as I have to do at work, if I did not have one, I would be hurting. I got something in my wrists that was very painful before Hannah was born. It wasn't carpel tunnel but I can't remember the name of it. Anyway, my company got me that keyboard and it has helped tremendously.

I am thankful for calculators. When Chris and I are thinking of our budget or paying our bills or balancing the check book. I am not sure what we would do if we did not have a calculator. We would confuse ourselves and it would take three times as long. Craziness.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for toothbrushes. I am not saying that I brush or floss my teeth the way that I should or as often as I should but I do love the feeling and taste I have in my mouth after brushing my teeth. I can not even think of what people without toothbrushes do. Have I now shown just how spoiled I am?

I am thankful for pictures. I know that seeing the actual event, thing, or person is the most important but I don't trust my memory to remember what I really want to remember. Did that make sense or was it just confusing? I just love pictures. (in case some of you have not figured that out yet.)

I am thankful for family. Again, showing my spoiled side, I don't know what those without family do. The love and support and caring spirit that comes from our family can really fill me up. I can't be thankful enough for those that have taught me thruout the years. And then the feeling of having that love and support from a new family that you have started is too wonderful for words to describe. Family gets me thru! I love you all.

Thankful Thursday

#1 I am thankful for bulletins. Every Sunday and Wednesday we have a bulletin that we pick up when we go to worship. It helps Chris and I have very specific prayers. I really feel that there is something powerful for the person we are praying for and for the person praying when we can be specific and talk to our Lord about people by name. Prayer is always powerful but I think you know what I mean.

#2 I am thankful for the people who have been, are, and will in the future be inspired by the word of God to make music. Hymns touch me. They can make me so happy when I sing them that they bring tears to my eyes. And I just love watching Hannah be excited about singing songs about God. (And this is very odd since I couldn't carry a tune if my life depended on it... REALLY!)

#3 I am thankful for the hard work of my husband to help support our family. Chris really works hard Monday thru Friday at the office. He does his best to give the company the time they are paying him for and do everything to the best of his ability. He helps out with other's work when they aren't there. He pitches in even when he really doesn't want to. He is a real team player and a hard worker. I am blessed to be able to see this side of him, first hand.

Thankful Thursdays

Last night and this morning, my Internet was down at home, so work with me on this post…..

I am going to give you all a weekly challenge. I am going to call it Thankful Thursdays. Every Thursday I think we should post 3 things we are thankful for. Anything from hair straighteners to family to the United States to Jesus that you would like to share that week. And for those of you who don’t have blogs feel free to put a comment in ours telling us something you are thankful for.

I am going to start this week… Sorry that I did not actually start on a Thursday. I had every intention to but was not able because of the Internet problems. Hopefully is it all better by the time I get home this afternoon.

#1 I am thankful for my eyelashes. They do a great job of keeping the dust out of my eyes. When Sara Jo and I were counselors at Bible camp together one of the ideas we wanted to get thru to our girls is that God gives us all we have and so we can be thankful and pray for the smallest and biggest of things. One of the ways I would get this point across is when leading a prayer I would list some things I was thankful for and I would be sure to list small and big things even if it wasn’t the types of things we normally thanked God for. Well, one day I thanked God for our eyelashes. The girls thought that was great and so they would call us “the girls who pray for eyelashes”. We kindof laughed about it but I think it made a lasting impression. Thank you Lord, for giving us our eyelashes.

#2 I am thankful for my daughter’s health. I know that God will get me thru anything that comes my way but when I read the struggles of Ethan Powell’s parents on their website (Thank You Elizabeth for introducing them to me.) I just wonder if I could really get thru that. I feel like I am not sure I could. Please pray for Ethan Powell. www.ethanpowell.com Thank you Lord, for Hannah’s good health.

#3 I am thankful for the girls in my church family here at home. Sometimes I think about them and all of the different ideas we have and all of the different situations we are in and all of the different kinds of families we have and wonder how we can all have so much fun together even though we are SO different. Then I realize that we have so much fun together because we are all SO different. I wish I could spend more time with them than I get to, and know them even better than I do but with all that goes on in our different families I think we do a pretty good job of keeping in touch. I really feel I could turn to the ladies within the church for anything I needed. I love all you girls very much. Thank you Lord, for my church family.
