Craziness

Where have I been?

Blogging is one of my most favorite things to do so if I don't blog for a while then you know that I am really really busy!

The thing is that I kinda sorta have about 4 jobs. Fun jobs. Jobs that I like. All, however, are time consuming.

One of the 4 is that I am teaching at a day school and we have our first day (a half day with a parent meeting) on Thursday. So, my co-teacher and I have been trying to get our room ready. Well, on the teacher workdays I went blank about bulletin boards. Literally. I think Jennifer (my co-teacher) really thought I was loopy.

Anyway, here is what we came up with and I think it all turned out to be pretty good. I am happy. ((Don't tell my boss but one is not completed yet!!)) :-)

Here is what is on the outside of our room. The grapes are actually a stolen idea from my friends Rachel and Sharon. They did this for VBS in their room when we were talking about the Fruit of the Spirit. I thought it was a great welcoming bulletin board.

Also, on some of the larger "falling" grapes we put the names of our kids. Jennifer did a great job of writing them in the shape of a circle.
Inside the classroom I wanted to incorporate the Fruit of the Spirit for the beginning of the year because I like to use these words when asking the children to do something or explaining our rules. For example - instead of saying don't be so rough with the toys I could ask them to be gentle, or instead of saying wait a minute I could say please be patient.
Again, we wrote their names on the apples in the apple basket. ((Hopefully we will have pictures of the children to put up on the boards soon.))

This is not a bulletin board. It is just he wall. But this is the Alphabet wall. Each week we will take a pictures of one of the children holding something that starts with that letter and put it beside the letter. I think this wall will be so so beautiful at the end of the year.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything!!!! I want to be in your class - can't wait to see your room "in person" this weekend!

(are the grapes plates or melted cups? - I'm "borrowing" that idea!)

SO proud of you!

I am in love with what you have done with the classroom! The grapes are an adorable idea! Love love love it. I taught VBS last year and fell in love with my Kindergarteners. I'd love to each full time once my children are older (still have two at home that haven't started school).

Great job on the wall and boards - you are so creative and I think this is the perfect job for you! I know the little ones in your class will LOVE their teacher - just like I do.
