Interesting Information

So, my children have a lot of earwax. (Just like their mom did as a kid.) It is just one of those things.

Yesterday Justus had to get his ears checked (of course, he had an ear infection) and the doctor said she had to look around all his earwax to see his ear infection. She told me to go to the pharmacy and get something called Colace.

I go into the pharmacy. Ask where the Colace is. Someone takes me to it and .... YES .... it is a Stool Softener.

I say something to my friend in the pharmacy area and she says she has never heard of it used that way before but it makes sense. The Pharmacist is close by shaking his head yes. He said it would liquefy it (just like my doc said) and he even said that it was great for getting stains out of your clothes. Just liquefies it and the stain comes out, just like earwax, and .... like other things that it was made for! :-)

So, I plan to put a hole in a stool softener gel cap and squirt it in my son's ear for 7 days in a row. Never could have imagined that I would ever write a sentence like that. Crazy!

Oh wow, I never would have guessed that. Good to know though.

Can't wait to hear what Justus thinks of this - but I think it makes a lot of sense.

I have worked for an ENT for 20+ years and this is a first for me. I must tell them about this. Makes perfect sense to me.

This goes hand in hand with the remedy for a cough at night...vicks vapor rub on the bottom of your feet and wear socks.
IT WORKS!!!!!! No kidding.
Let me know how Justus likes the stool softener in his ears. :)
Love you,
AW

And what does that mean? Of course I have earwax...just not in the amount of other people. Actually I have very little. :)

When we have to send residents at work from our facility (VA extended care) to the VA hearing clinic they always have us do this to their ears first...to make sure that the problem isn't just wax build up before sending them over for a more extensive work-up.
