Cousins

I stole this picture from my sister-in-law's blog. Melissa got this picture of Landon, Hannah, and Justus all looking in the same general direction and all smiling. What are the chances?

One of the down sides to us choosing to go to the beach during our fourth of July trip was that we did not get to hang out in Chris' home town at all. (Trying to go all places was just too much for us.) SO, we didn't get to hang out with Chris' sister's family much but we were able to meet them for a quick supper on our way back towards home.

While we were together Chris' mom gave us all one assignment. Get a picture of all 3 of the kids together. Mission Accomplished. Thanks Melissa!! This is the background on my cell and Chris' cell. And it may be the background to Maw Maw and Poppa's cell too!??

Daddy's Girl

This girl!

Hannah!

Well, let me just say, I should have seen something like this coming.

Let me rewind for a moment and tell you a little story. True Story! I was dating Chris in college. He was a pool manager which meant he did take some shifts on lifeguarding. He was at a pool. Obviously not a lot of people there. He was trying to find something to do so ..... he decided to see what would happen if he put his cell phone in the pool.

He really put his cell phone in the pool just to see what would happen. Really. Guess what! The phone never worked again. Interesting huh? Never could have guessed that ending - huh?

Well Well Well. If Hannah didn't ask me if she could take her play Aerial cell phone out side. I told her she could but that if she got sand or water in it or if she left it outside then it may not work and could ruin the phone. She said OK. I explained a second time the dangers of breaking it and that I was not at all responsible for it. She said OK.

Guess what she did. She dumped it in her water table. Guess why she said she dumped it in the water. Yep. Just to see what it would do. Guess what! The phone will never work again. Interesting huh? Never could have guessed that ending - huh?

Crazy thing about both stories.
They both knew their possible consequences.
They both took the same risk - knowingly.
They both got the same bad result.
They were both OK with it.
Acceptance of the outcome was had by all.

Oh my, I love those two!!

Washing the Dishes

Very Very Serious Washing of the Dishes!

This started at my parents house. We were trying to cook. She was busy busy all around us and of course wanted to do all we were doing. Mom got a step stool, got some non-breakable items, put some soap, a washcloth, and water in the sink and told her she could wash the dishes.

She loves loves loves playing with water and this keeps her occupied for a good 30 minutes or more.

So, I tried it at home. It worked great! The only thing is that we have hard wood in our kitchen. Let's just say she is not the most tidy dish washer. We have to choose.

#1
Possible floor damage and a bigger water bill but with a much quieter home for a moment.

or

#2
No floor damage, a normal water bill, and a little girl asking us regularly if she can wash dishes.

I am sorry Mr Dave Ramsey but a quiet home may win out every once in a while!!

Our Sunday Pictures

The Happy Couple

Chris asked me at the beginning of the trip to maybe not point and awe at every cool thing I saw. And maybe, just maybe, don't look up at a building and take pictures of every single cool thing I saw. He was hoping we would blend in a little. Just fit in and not be an annoying tourist to all the locals. I tried. Really. Can't you tell with all these crazy pictures?

Anyway, this meant that I was worried we would not get very many pictures of us. I am happy to say we did get a couple. 2 people offered to help us. We used the timer. And we took some of ourselves on our own (which is why in some of them you can see up our noses!).

What a fun trip!
Happy 5th Anniversary Chris!
I had such a wonderful time with my hubby!
I love you Mr Christopher!

Just 3 More Places

#1 McDonald's
Yes, I said McDonald's. Don't hate. Look at this crazy two story McDonald's! It has an escalator in it. It's dollar menus are actually $1.90 menus. It has 2 drive thru lanes. Crazy. And by the way they have at least 8 different types of seating. I tried to get Chris to take a picture in each of them but he was not quite in to it. SO, I told him to Be Fun and smile. He did for some of the pictures and simply refused to sit in 2 of the pretty chairs. Silly! :-)
#2 Michigan Avenue
Well, Well, Well, can't we spend some money on Michigan Ave if we want to. Look at how many stories of Bloomingdale's there are!! What? Economy Problem? What Economy Problem? There is no Economy Problem. Check out all the people on Michigan Ave. And most have bags with them. Crazy!

#3 Gino's East
Our first taste of Deep Dish pizza. It was pretty yummy. I had no idea deep dish pizza was not only in a very deep crust (obviously) but the order of things was a little different too. Crust, Cheese, Toppings, then Sauce. Definitely need deep dish pizza from Gino's when you go to Chicago. Thanks Becca and Elizabeth for letting us know about this place!!
