I have some worries about our "pictures" of Jesus. Something about guessing his looks bothers me. However, every once in a while I see a picture or painting that seems tasteful and moving. I saw this one about a month ago and it has taken me this long to decide if I wanted to share it or not. But I really like it. This one is called "The Prince of Peace" and it is by Thomas Kinkade.

Do you ever wonder how the first image came to be. All the Bible says is that he was not "special" in his looks.
I would like to think that they studyed the culter at that time. However, I think that we just want him to look like us. One thing that gets me is that a lot of times he looks frail and pale. From where he lived and what he did I would think he would be darker and have some muscules. I guess the bottom line is that it doesn't really matter what he looked like. It matters what he did and who he was. (I think that is true of us all!) Think there is a reason the Bible didn't give us more physical description of him?
We can never thank Him enough for all He has done for us. I am teaching ladies' class tomorrow on "Treading the Waters of Tribulations." It's a hard lesson to teach, but it is so comforting to know He is always there.
Love you!
