Zealous

Our minister used this word zealous in his lesson on Sunday night and it sure has been a while since I have thought of it. It has been in my mind all day.

Am I zealous?
Do I meet very many people who are zealous?
Should we be zealous?
What should we be zealous for?
What does zealous really mean?

I am not completely sure I can fully answer all of these questions, however, I have found some things for you to consider and think over.

Titus 2:11-15 (New American Standard Version)
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority Let no one disregard you.

Zealous means marked by active interest and enthusiasm; having or showing great excitement and interest.

Are we and do we show that we are zealous about the Lord? I think I struggle with this. I feel too tired or have no energy or it is just easier not to say anything at all. I need to live my life in such a way that not only do others see that I am a follower of Christ but I also am zealous about Him and excited to tell others what I have found thru Him.

I am glad you reminded me of that. Those were some fun times! Mrs. Mielke, I think, was zealous for the Lord. I am not sure I appreciated her as much as I should have.
