Book

In addition to reading the book I am personally reading, I am reading a book for a group of ladies that get together each week. We read one chapter a week and get together for "coffee" (I drink Diet Coke instead) and talk about the chapter. It always ties in to a Bible study.

Right now we are reading Simple Hospitality by Jane Jarrell. It is definitely directed toward women. It is simple, delightful, refreshing, and fun. She discusses all the avenues of hospitality, not just the normal first thought of it. Here are a couple of quotes that have touched me so far. (We are only reading chapter 4 this week) I will let you know how it goes...

"Gracious hospitality offers comfort, encouragement, and forgiveness in a generous fashion. It is allowing the spirit of God to flow through you by putting others before yourself. ... When we take the focus off our circumstances and turn our hearts toward God and others, it is amazing how much easier hospitality looks."

"When we've taken the time to put our own hearts in order, we are freed to reach beyond ourselves to meet others where they are."

"Gracious hospitality involves four simple steps:
- You comfort others.
- You encourage others.
- You forgive others.
- You give to others."

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

I'd like to read this when you are finished.
